Mark Cuban fined $50,000 for Twitter comment criticizing refs

Mark Cuban was fined $50,000 for a Twitter comment he made that criticized the refs during a recent game. The steep fine by the NBA followed Cuban's expression of displeasure after the Dallas Mavericks lost to the New Orleans Hornets over the weekend, according to a Jan. 9, 2013 report by the Los Angeles Times.

The message wasn't even that offensive by any standards, but the outspoken owner of the Dallas Mavericks will have to pay the price anyhow. The tweet that caused Mark Cuban to be fined read, "Im [sic] sorry NBA fans. Ive tried for 13 years to fix the officiating in this league and I have failed miserably. Any Suggestions ? I need help."

Mark Cuban was fined $50,000, but that's nothing compare to his vast fortune. The team owner and "Shark Tank" investor has an estimated net worth of $2.5 billion, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
